Real Madrid have banned fans from buying club shirts bearing the names of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, according to reports.

Haaland currently plays for Manchester City and recently helped the club win the Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, Mbappe remains at Paris Saint-Germain despite speculation over his future.

However, both players have been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent years.

Haaland was reportedly a target for Los Blancos before moving to City last year.

And Mbappe has been on Real’s radar since his time at Monaco.

However, Cadena Ser says that the LaLiga titans have now introduced a new rule in their official club shop.

In line with their new policy, fans who ask for Mbappé or Haaland’s name will be turned away.

The only exception is if the surname of the person concerned is ‘Haaland’ or ‘Mbappé’.

Real have reportedly taken the step ‘out of respect’ for both City and PSG.

Right now, it is unclear if the club has any plans to rekindle interest in Haaland or Mbappe.

However, Real are one of the biggest teams in world football and also boast the financial strength necessary to bring the pair to Spain.

Fans are demanding the names of players who do not play for Real, this is unusual behaviour.

Yet this may have happened earlier if the club is now taking action to address the situation behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, speaking earlier this month, Haaland’s agent Rafael Pimenta opened up on the possibility of the Norway international joining Real.

However, he also acknowledged that Haaland was ‘master of his own destiny’.

“Erling is always the master of his own destiny,” Pimenta said.

“He will always do what is best for him and Man City.

“When they’re all ready for change, it will happen. Erling will always be respectful.”

As for Mbappe, the PSG star told Zinedine Zidane about his neglect after meeting his childhood hero in 2017.

“My parents wanted me to start my career in France, get an education in France,” he said.

“To play football, but also to continue his education. To go to Spain, even if it was with Zidane, it was another country, another culture…”

He further added, “It was difficult to lift so much weight in the beginning because I was very small.

“I was 18 to 19 years old and I liked doing 18 to 19 year old things.

“But, on the pitch I was asked to be an adult.

“When you want to get to the top, there’s no room for immature people, no room for kids.

“It’s an adult world and you have to be prepared for it.”
