New Year 2024: Delhi Police issues traffic advisory with diversions and road closures; Check routes to take, avoid – Gudstory

Delhi is all set to celebrate New Year’s Eve and celebrations are taking place at many restaurants, malls and other public places. Delhi Traffic Police issued a notice yesterday informing about the changes, closures and routes to avoid on New Year’s Eve.

Delhi Traffic Police will impose the following restrictions for all private and public transport vehicles around Delhi from 8 pm on December 31 till the conclusion of New Year celebrations.

  1. Any vehicle will be restricted to R/A Mandi House, R/A Bengali Market, North floor of Ranjit Singh flyover, Minto Road, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg crossing, Chelmsford Road near Munje Chowk, RK Ashram Marg-Chitragupta Marg towards Connaught Place. Will not be allowed to go. Crossing, R/A Gole Market, R/A GPO, Patel Chowk, Kasturba Gandhi Road Ferozshah Road Crossing, Jal Singh Road-Bangla Sahib Lane and R/A Windsor Place.
  2. Only valid pass holders will be allowed in the inner, middle or outer circle of Connaught Place
  3. Around Connaught Place, limited parking space will be available in designated areas on a first-come, first-served basis.
  4. Passengers who wish to travel to New Delhi Railway Station will have to reach from Ram Manohar Lohia Park Street via Mandir Marg or Rani Jhansi Road or R/A Jhandeviyan or Deshbandhu Gupta Road. Passengers can also take the R/A GPO or R/A Windsor Place routes. Entry from Connaught Place via Chelmsford Road will be prohibited. From Ajmeri Gate, travelers can reach the second entrance via Pahar Ganj.
  5. The routes around Old Delhi Railway Station will remain intact.
  6. There will be traffic restrictions around India Gate also.
  7. In West Delhi, commuters should avoid Najafgarh Road, (Dwarka Mod to Zakhira flyover) and Outer Ring Road (Janak Puri to Peeragarh Chowk).
  8. In South Delhi, commuters should avoid taking these routes – Press Enclave Road Saket to Ring Road, Feroze Gandhi Marg and Veer Savarkar Marg to Central Market Lajpat Nagar, Bhishma Pitamah Marg to New Delhi via Andrews Ganj and Lodhi Road to Ring Road. Till AIIMS.
