Eric ten Hag has said he has the support of Manchester United’s board amid reports the club are considering potential replacements.
United crashed out of Europe this week after finishing bottom of their Champions League group and face a tough trip to Anfield this weekend to try and lift their morale.
They have already crashed out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Newcastle and are in the fight for a top-four finish.
The position United were in at the end of last season is a far cry from the fervent optimism of Ten Hag’s first campaign in charge.

The summer transfers of Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hjolund have not helped and they are struggling to make an impact.
More experienced players such as Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Raphael Varane have also suffered a dip in form, while Ten Hag is struggling to find a winning formula.
Reports in Spain say Ten Hag’s position at Old Trafford is now ‘overwhelming’ and that Yulen Lopetegui is ‘very well placed’ to replace the United boss.
But Ten Hag has indicated he still has the full support of the United board over the busy festive period.
“I think so and they say so,” Ten Haag said.
“That’s OK, that’s OK but I’m focused on the process and making this team better, making these individuals better.
“No worries because I am here to win and I have to show the team a better game.
“Good is not good enough, we are inconsistent and I need to work on how the team will play.”
United are still hurt from last season’s trip to Anfield when Jurgen Klopp’s side suffered a 7-0 demolition.
This week it is feared that given the form and atmosphere of both the teams, there could be similar results.
Manchester United desperately needs a boost

Ten Hag admits that last season was a disaster, but he has challenged his team to avenge that 7-0 humiliation.
“I didn’t see last season that we were scared out there.
“It was a bad experience, but it’s not like, you start again. Last year, in the first half we played very well and after half-time we lost, then we fell.
“It may not happen but it’s like last year, at least for a part it’s a different team and different players.
