The West African country’s military regime says at least a dozen soldiers have been killed and seven others wounded in an attack by Islamic militants in western Niger.
Niger’s Defense Minister, General Salifou Modi, said in a statement that the soldiers were on a mission in the town of Kandaji in the Tillaberi region on Thursday when hundreds of jihadists on motorcycles attacked them.
