WhatsApp announced today that it is introducing the ability for users to use two accounts simultaneously. This means you can switch between two accounts in the same WhatsApp instance.
Historically, people had to have two phones to use two WhatsApp accounts. Now, the company is making it possible to use just one phone for two accounts. Phone makers like Xiaomi and Oppo also have features like app cloning so that people can take advantage of multiple WhatsApp instances.
“Helpful for switching between accounts – like your work and personal – you no longer have to worry about logging out every time, carrying two phones or sending messages from the wrong place,” the company said in a blog post. “

users can go Settings > Add Account To add another account. When setting up, you’ll need your second phone with a SIM, or a physical or eSIM enabled phone for multi-SIM. The company said that you will be able to manage different notifications and privacy settings for each account.
WhatsApp warned against counterfeit versions of the app to prevent fraud.
Earlier this week, WhatsApp introduced Passkey support for the Android version, so users can log into the app without SMS-based two-factor authentication.
