Inaugurating the second edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Prime Minister Modi said, “Today new technology has been used here through Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is a new beginning and hopefully it will make it easier for me to reach you.”

The Prime Minister was referring to the simultaneous Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Tamil translation of his speech done through Bhashini for a Tamil understanding audience.

He also flagged off the Kashi Tamil Sangam Express between Varanasi and Kanyakumari.

At the Kashi Tamil Sangam, PM Modi said, “…you all have come here more as members of my family than as guests. I welcome you all to Kasi Tamil Sangamam…”

He said, “Going from Tamil Nadu to Varanasi means going from one house of Mahadev to another. That is why the relationship between the people of Tamil Nadu and Varanasi is special.”

Crediting Adi Shankaracharya, Ramanujacharya and other ancient philosophers for creating the idea of ​​India as a nation, Pradhan said, “In other countries of the world, nation has been a political definition, but India as a nation Made up of spiritual beliefs.” India has been united by saints like Adi Shankaracharya and Ramanujacharya, who awakened India’s national consciousness through their travels,” PM Modi said.

He further said, “I am glad that Banaras Hindu University and IIT Madras have collaborated to make Kasi Tamil Sangamam a success. IIT Madras has launched ‘Vidya Shakti’ initiative to help students of Kashi in mathematics and science. These things show how special is the relationship between Kashi and Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, while addressing Kashi Tamil Sangam, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thanked the Prime Minister for this event.

“The organization of Kasi Tamil Sangamam (in Varanasi) is the result of PM Modi’s vision. This is helping in the ‘confluence’ of North and South,” the UP Chief Minister said.

1,400 dignitaries from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will participate in the Kasi Tamil Sangamam to be held from December 17-31. According to an official statement, he is scheduled to visit Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya.

The statement said the event will also feature cultural programs highlighting the unique traditions of Kashi and Tamil Nadu, with an aim to strengthen ties between the people of these two regions.

Union Ministry of Education is the nodal agency for the event with the participation of Ministries of Culture, Tourism, Railways, Textiles, Food Processing, MSME, Information & Broadcasting, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, IRCTC and line departments of Government of Uttar Pradesh.
