Jacksonville has another injury to worry about in addition to quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who… He suffered a high ankle sprain During the Jaguars’ 34-31 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Monday Night Football.

Wide receiver Christian Kirk was also injured during the game, leaving after catching a 26-yard pass and falling to the ground holding his leg. It was a non-contact injury and he did not return to the game.

While Lawrence remains questionable for this coming weekend, NFL Insider’s Ian Rapoport reported that Kirk suffered a core muscle injury, not a leg injury, on Monday and will likely need surgery. The rehabilitation period is about eight weeks. If the Jags make it to the Super Bowl, he’ll likely play.

Kirk is Lawrence’s main target. He has 787 total yards leading the team this season on 57 receptions and has three touchdowns. With him out and the absence of Lawrence, Tyson Campbell and Trey Herndon, the Jaguars’ matchup against Cleveland this weekend could move the team up the standings in a division where everyone is competing for the top spot.

Jacksonville is 8-4 and atop the AFC South. Lawrence threw for 3,004 yards, 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
