Michael Caine has said he will retire from acting at the age of 90 following the release of his latest film.

“I keep saying I’m going to retire. Well, now I’m retired,” Kane said in an interview broadcast Saturday.

“I thought I had a picture where I played the lead role and I got unbelievable reviews… What am I going to do that’s going to beat that?”

Caine starred in “The Great Escaper” with Glenda Jackson, who died in June shortly after completing her part in the film.

The film is based on the true story of a World War II veteran who escapes from a care home to attend D-Day anniversary celebrations in France.
