Republic Day 2024: India celebrates its Republic Day every year on 26 January. This year the country is celebrating its 75th Republic Day. This is the day when the country became a sovereign state after gaining independence on August 15, 1947 and the Constitution of India came into force.
Republic Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the country. The national flag will be hoisted by President Draupadi Murmu, followed by a spectacular military and cultural display of tableaux from various states and government departments.

On the occasion of 75th Republic Day, after Bhasma Aarti, Baba Mahakaleshwar Shivalinga was also decorated with the tricolor.
Anji Khad Bridge of Jammu and Kashmir, the first cable-stayed bridge of Indian Railways connecting Katra and Reasi sections of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla-Rail-Link (USBRL), was illuminated in the tricolour.
Bhimgarh Fort in Jammu and Kashmir, located in Reasi, was illuminated with vibrant tricolor lights.
