Republic Day 2024: French President Emmanuel Macron announces visas, classes for Indian students – Gudstory

French President Emmanuel Macron announced the target of welcoming 30,000 Indian students to France on social media site X (formerly Twitter).

He said the country will open new avenues for students and will also facilitate visa processes for Indians who have ever studied in the country.

Macron is in India today as the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations in the national capital Delhi.

Macron expressed commitment to students

Stating his target of welcoming 30,000 Indian students to France in 2030, Macron called it a “very ambitious target”, and said he was “determined to achieve it”. He also explained how the target would be achieved.

“We are launching new paths to learning French in public schools with the initiative “French for all, French for a better future”. We are developing the network of Alliance Francaise with new centers for learning French. We Creating international classrooms that will allow students who do not necessarily speak French to join our universities. Last, but not least, we will facilitate the visa process for any former Indian students studying in France, ” the statement said.

He also praised the benefits for students choosing France. “Coming to France means seeking excellence. We now have 35 universities in the QS rankings and about 15 universities in the Times Higher Education rankings. India and France have a lot to do together now and in the future. We will achieve this with you, with our youth, by exchange and cooperation, by trust, by friendship!” he wrote.

Chief Guest of R-Day

Macron, who is the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day, visited a tea stall with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jaipur’s famous Sahu tea stall on January 25 and interacted with each other over a cup of tea. The President of France also used UPI to make payments there.

A large number of people welcomed PM Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron during the road show in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Macron waved to the people gathered there and extended a warm welcome.

Before the road show, Macron reached Jantar Mantar of Pink City Jaipur. A photograph was taken of Prime Minister Modi being warmly welcomed at Jantar Mantar.

Both the leaders warmly welcomed each other and posed for the cameras. After this he went to see Jantar Mantar. Jantar Mantar is a famous solar observatory established by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in July 2010.

Macron also visited Amer Fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He also met school students who had gathered there to welcome him. The French President was accompanied by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on the visit to the fort.
