Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das received the award for being ranked ‘A+’ at the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023 in Marrakesh city of Morocco on Saturday. The award recognizes central bank governors whose strategies have outperformed their peers through originality, creativity and tenacity. RBI shared the news on its official handle on Twitter with a picture of the RBI Governor receiving the award.
The awards were announced in the month of September and were presented by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, along with two other central bankers – Switzerland’s Thomas J. Jordan and Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Hoong earned ‘A+’ grades in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Card 2023.
An official statement issued by Global Finance magazine said, “Bank Governors who earned ‘A+’ grades in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Card 2023 from India include Shaktikanta Das, Thomas J. Jordan (Switzerland), Nguyen Thi Hong (Vietnam) ) Are.” Said.

After the announcement of the award, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das received appreciation from various parts of the world including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi in a tweet said, “Congratulations to RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. This is a proud moment for India, reflecting our financial leadership on the global stage. His dedication and vision will continue to strengthen our country’s growth path.” “
Central Banker Report Card
The Central Bankers Report Card, issued by Global Finance on an annual basis since 1994, provides assessments and grades of central bank leaders in 101 important sectors and countries. It includes institutions such as the European Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States and the Central Bank of West African States.
