According to the news agency report, sources said that Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has sent invitations to Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya to be held on January 22. PTI, However, he said senior Congress leaders were unlikely to attend the function.

According to sources, the invitations were sent individually to Kharge, Gandhi and Chaudhary. Apart from him, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and HD Deve Gowda have also received invitation.

According to sources, the invitation was given by a delegation of people associated with the trust. Invitations are also likely to be sent to other opposition leaders in the coming days. Veteran BJP leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi are unlikely to attend the consecration ceremony next month.

The Trust has said that invitations have been extended to revered saints of various traditions as well as all prominent persons who have contributed to the country’s honor in every field.

Apart from politicians, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli will also attend the ceremony as guests. The invitees also include Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. Actors Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhlia are also included in this list. They are famous for their role of Ram and Sita in the famous TV series Ramayana. The trust has extended its reach to 3,000 VVIPs, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Baba Ramdev and Ratan Tata.

The special guests will include judges, scientists, writers, poets, saints, priests, Shankaracharyas, religious leaders, former civil servants, retired army officers, lawyers, musicians and Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardees.

According to the Trust, around 4,000 saints from different sects have been invited to participate in the celebrations.

The trust said a tent city has been set up at the new Teerthakshetrapuram (Bagh Bijaisi) which includes six tube wells, six kitchens and a hospital with ten beds. “…If 10,000-15,000 people want to stay overnight, where will they find shelter? Where will they get food and water? …For this purpose, the Trust is setting up a new tin-shed city that will cover at least Be ready by the end of February…” the agency quoted Champat Rai, general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, as saying.

About 150 doctors from across the country have agreed to provide their services in this hospital on rotation basis.

The Ram temple in Ayodhya is being built after a long legal battle following which the Supreme Court paved the way for the construction of the temple in 2019. The temple was one of the main election promises of the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). , Following the apex court’s decision, the government formed the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which was entrusted with taking all decisions regarding the construction of the temple.
