Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) session at the Jio World Center in Mumbai. Upon reaching Mumbai, PM Modi was welcomed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The IOC Session serves as an important meeting of the members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Important decisions regarding the future of the Olympic Games are taken at the IOC session.

In the program, PM Modi said, “India is keen on organizing Olympics in the country.” India will leave no stone unturned in preparing for the successful organization of Olympics in 2036, this is the dream of 140 crore Indians…”

Prime Minister Modi also said, “We are keen to host the 2029 Youth Olympics, I am sure India will get continued support from the IOC”.

India is hosting the IOC session for the second time and after a gap of almost 40 years. A press release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said the 86th session of the IOC was held in New Delhi in 1983.

The session was also attended by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach and other members of the IOC as well as prominent Indian sports personalities and representatives of various sports associations, including the Indian Olympic Association.

Actors Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone arrived at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) in Mumbai on Saturday for the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) session.

The ‘Brahmastra’ couple was seen posing in front of the people at NMACC in their traditional attire.
