On Mahaparinirvan Diwas, tribute is paid to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his death anniversary. The day has been declared a public holiday in Mumbai and its suburbs as per the official notification, which states that government and non-government institutions will remain closed due to Mahaparinirvan Day.

Mumbai Traffic Police has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth movement of vehicles during the 67th death anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar i.e. ‘Mahaparinirvan Diwas’.

A large number of tourists visited Chaitya Bhoomi in Dadar from Monday to Thursday to pay tribute to Dr. Ambedkar. Of Mahaparinirvan Day. Traffic restrictions were imposed from 6 am on Tuesday and will remain in force till 12 am today.

Swatantryaveer Savarkar Road will remain closed from Siddhivinayak Temple Junction to Hinduja Hospital. Additionally, the north side of SK Bole Road will function as a one-way road from Siddhivinayak Temple Junction to Portuguese Church Junction. PTI, Ranade Road and other roads will remain closed for vehicles. As officials informed, restrictions on movement of heavy vehicles are also in force from SV Road-Mahim Junction to Hardikar Junction.

President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other MPs also paid tribute to the creator of the Constitution at his statue in the Parliament complex today.

PM Modi said in a social media post on Twitter, “Respected Baba Saheb was the creator of the Indian Constitution as well as an immortal advocate of social harmony, who dedicated his life to the welfare of the exploited and the deprived. My respectful obeisances to him today on his Mahaparinirvana day.”

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also paid tribute to Baba Saheb Ambedkar and said in a post on X, “Baba Saheb Dr BR Amdekar dedicated his entire life to the establishment of an equal and just society, progress of the nation, human rights Was.” And social justice for all. On his death anniversary, I pay him my true tribute.”

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said in a post on X. “On ‘Mahaparinirvan Diwas’, I salute Babasaheb Ambedkar and his remarkable contribution to our nation. His ideas inspired millions, and our future generations will never forget his role in the framing of the Constitution of India.”

Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh said in a post on X. “Today, we remember Babasaheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvan Day. The chief architect of our Constitution, Baba Saheb worked tirelessly throughout his life to build an equitable and strong India.
