During an appearance on TNT’s NBA Tip-Off, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic apologized for ejecting a player during Wednesday’s loss to the Phoenix Suns.

“I was really frustrated, you know, because we were losing,” Doncic said Tell Kevin Harlan when asked about the incident. “I sprained my ankle in the first half. It was just a lot of emotion. Maybe you shouldn’t do it. When I’m wrong, I admit it. Maybe I shouldn’t have done it.”

Doncic fired the fan because, in the Dallas guard’s words, he harassed him “all night long.” The straw that broke the camel’s back came at the beginning of the second half, as the stadium staff sent off Doncic. Those reporting on the game claim a Suns fan was yelling, “Luka, you’re tired! Put your ass on the treadmill!”

Doncic also had a tense exchange with ESPN’s Tim McMahon in his post-match press conference after McMahon posted about the fan’s removal online.

“I’m not going to say what he said, but I knew you’d be the first to bring up something like that,” Luka told McMahon when asked about the eviction afterward.

Doncic finished the 132-109 loss to Phoenix with 34 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. He scored just 10 points on 3-for-9 shooting in the second half, with a -23 plus/minus. The Mavericks lost their third straight game, having lost four of their last five.
