Superstar Rajinikanth’s wife Latha Rajinikanth on Tuesday said there is no “fraud” in the fraud case filed against her by a Chennai-based advertising firm in 2015, while terming it as “humiliation, harassment and exploitation”.
She appeared in a Bengaluru court on Tuesday in a case related to the Tamil film ‘Kochadaiiyaan’. The court granted him bail and the hearing has been postponed till January 6.

The Supreme Court on October 10 reinstated alleged criminal charges against superstar Rajinikanth’s wife Latha in a case related to Tamil film ‘Kochadaiiyaan’. A bench headed by Justices AS Bopanna and MM Sundaresh passed the order while hearing petitions challenging the Karnataka High Court decision.
The Supreme Court had asked Lata to demand that the lower court quash the charges of forgery and cheating against her in a criminal case. Chennai-based Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd had challenged the Karnataka HC order which quashed the fraud case against Rajinikanth’s wife.
The impugned order dated August 2, 2022, passed by the Karnataka High Court in Bengaluru has been challenged by both the contesting parties.
Earlier in August, the Karnataka HC had given some relief to Lata by quashing the fraud charges against her, but retained the forgery cases against her. He also challenged the HC decision in the Supreme Court.
The Tamil film Kochadaiiyaan was produced by Ad Bureau and MediaOne Global Entertainment Limited starring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone. The film also marked the directorial debut of Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya.
