Kostas Tsimikas was sent off injured after Bukayo Saka pushed Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, while the Arsenal winger escaped punishment.

The evening’s match between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield had a very high pace, with both teams pushing for the lead.

Gabriel Magalhaes gave the visitors an early lead before Mohamed Salah equalized for Liverpool.

With both teams pushing for another goal, this opened up some space down the wing and Arsenal looked to attack Liverpool’s left wing just after the half-hour mark.

Saka was played on the halfway line, with Tsimikas attempting to pass the ball past his opponent.

But the England international used his strength to get past Tsimikas and push the ball wide to the left.

Unfortunately for Tsimikas the challenge took place at the edge of the pitch and he fell straight at the feet of his own manager.

Tsimikas’ wobbly legs brought Klopp to the floor, who angrily leapt back to his feet.

But there was more concern for the full-back, who remained on the floor in some pain.

It soon became clear that a replacement was needed with Joe Gomez being drafted onto the bench.

Tsimikas was able to get back up, but a makeshift sling was made to hold his arm revealing that he had suffered a shoulder injury.

Any injury to Tsimikas would be a huge blow for Klopp with Andy Robertson still unavailable.

The Scotland international has been sidelined since October after suffering a shoulder injury which required surgery.

Klopp confirmed that Robertson is still at least a few weeks away from returning as his shoulder has not yet fully healed.

“Andy, I sat with him yesterday. Actually, he’s doing well,” Klopp said.

“The shoulder is missing but the rest of the body is fine. We have to be a little more patient but he is fine.”

“He can do all the physical work which causes him trouble because he is not allowed to train properly.

“But physically once he’s given the go-ahead with the shoulder, it’ll take a very short time for him to get back. We’re all hoping it will be January but I don’t know.”
