The Detroit Lions went 9-8 in 2022, narrowly missing out on the playoffs. It was an improvement for the moribund franchise, and both fans and analysts had high hopes for the 2023 season.

One fan, in particular, was so sure the Lions would not only win their first-ever Super Bowl, he also got a tattoo — in August — to commemorate the virtual victory.

“I’ve never been sure of anything in my life,” Alex Chepiska said. CBS Detroit. “It feels like this is our role. It’s the most exciting I’ve ever felt being a Lions fan.

“Last year, I think midway through the season, I fell in love with Dan Campbell and the entire organization he turned it into, after a lifetime of heartbreak,” Chepiska said. ABC 7 Detroit.

The Lions players have taken notice, too. Linebacker Alex Anzelone said the tattoo itself is a big commitment.

“It’s amazing,” Anzalone told CBS Detroit. “But I think the legacy you can leave here just because of the stature of this organization, you can cement your name in history here, and our opportunity is right in front of us.”

Detroit will face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game on Sunday. A Lions W will put them in the big game and come a step closer to making Chepeska look like a fortune teller. If Detroit loses, he may want to consider covering his ink.
