The 77-year-old country music icon made a surprise appearance Legrand Gold When he called her on Friday, December 22 and spoke to her on the phone.
Gould, 48, was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer in 2021. His disease had spread to his lymph nodes and liver, and in September, he was given a prognosis of less than six months to live due to liver failure.
Gould has been a fan of Parton his entire life and meeting her was on his bucket list, but he thought it was a dream that wouldn’t come true. ‘Well, that’s never going to happen,’ he recalled in an interview with KSL-TV published Friday.

Then a magical call came from his idol.
“Hey LG, I’m Dolly P. I heard you’ve been a fan of mine for many years, and I just want to thank you for that,” Parton told Gold over the phone.
She added, “I’m just happy that we got the chance to take our journey together in this lifetime.” “I always want to make people happy with my music, what I do, and what I say, and I’m glad to know that I’ve touched your life in some way. So, thank you for honoring me with this.”

As Gold glowed while listening to Parton on the phone, the 10-time Grammy winner continued by singing a snippet of one of her most famous songs.
“Just know that I’ll love you forever,” Parton said, referencing the title of her 1973 classic. Whitney Houston in 1992 for bodyguard Song music. “I was supposed to sing that song, didn’t I?” Parton asked. She then sang a few tunes, turning to her famous song “I Will Always Love LG”.
“He sang a song for me, put my name in the song,” Gould said. “I feel like I’m immortal now.”
After hoping to connect with Parton for several years, the phone call gave Gould some much-needed happiness.

“It was really cool,” Gould said. “It made me feel good.”
Gould, his wife, and their five children have visited Parton’s Dollywood theme park in Tennessee several times. The couple also read books to their children sent through Parton’s free book gift program, Imagination Library.
“From the time the baby is born until he goes to kindergarten, she sends books every month,” Gold told KSL-TV earlier this month. “She does things like this [that] I think it’s really cool.”
Alice told People Her entire family is delighted by Parton’s incredible call.
“We have been flying on a ray of hope for many days,” she said. “Out of 11 items [on the list]We thought Dolly would be impossible, but true to Dolly’s form, she once again reminds the world that dreams do come true.
