A video of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA has gone viral in which he is taking strict action against non-vegetarian shops in Jaipur.
Balmukund Acharya, BJP MLA from Hawamahal constituency in Jaipur district, was taking action against shops selling meat that did not have a license or were selling non-vegetarian food near temples.

In the video, Acharya asked police officials to close all non-veg stalls on the roads. Speaking to an official over phone, Acharya said, “All non-veg stalls on the roads should disappear with immediate effect. I will take the report from you in the evening. Will you hand it over to me or will I have to come to your office?”
Further, Acharya asked the police, “Can non-veg be sold openly on the streets? Say yes or no, you are live. Are you supporting them? Non-veg shops should be closed with immediate effect. I’ll take the report.” From you, I don’t know who the officer is”.

Yesterday, Acharya issued a statement regarding his action against meat shops. “Talking to the authorities for some years now, many meat shops are running openly in our entire area, in all the assembly constituencies of the old city, on the streets, on the corners, near temples. There is a rule regarding meat shops. That whatever meat you sell – raw or cooked – you have to cover it, you have to have a license and it has to be taken into account”.

Terming “illegal” meat shops as a matter of concern, the Hawamahal MLA said, “These shops are running on drains in unhygienic conditions. This is spreading diseases. That’s why we said they should operate as per the rules. “

Furthermore, he said that cooking meat in the open causes trouble to vegetarians and said, ‘As a citizen, I had only requested the authorities to look into this matter.’
