Delhi Traffic Police has informed that traffic is affected on Mathura Road in the carriageway going from Ashram Chowk towards Apollo Hospital. He further said that traffic has been disrupted due to the massive fire below Modi Mill flyover along Mathura Road.

“Traffic on Mathura Road from Ashram Chowk towards Apollo Hospital is affected as a massive fire broke out under the Modi Mill flyover along Mathura Road. Please avoid this stretch,” Delhi Traffic Police tweeted.

Cold conditions along with fog prevailed in areas of North India on Saturday morning and the minimum temperature in the national capital Safdarjung was recorded at 8.9 degrees Celsius.

Dense fog blanketed the national capital in the early hours of Saturday, affecting commuters and traffic.

In Delhi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 9.6 degrees in Palam, 8.9 degrees in Safdarjung.

Meanwhile, as cold wave and fog persisted in the national capital, rehearsals for the January 26 Republic Day parade were held on the duty track.

IMD says there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over North India during the next five days.

Many flights were delayed due to fog and bad weather in northern India.

SpiceJet airline also issued an advisory to passengers on flight delays due to fog.

“All departures/arrivals were expected at Amritsar (ATQ), Jammu (IXJ), Varanasi (VNS), Gorakhpur (GOP), Patna (PAT), Jaipur (JAI), Shirdi (SAG) and Darbhanga (DBR). And their As a result flights may be affected,” SpiceJet airline shared in a post on Twitter.

Fog and bad weather conditions also affected many trains traveling to and from the national capital. As many as 22 trains headed towards the national capital were delayed on Friday due to foggy conditions in the region.

Apart from this, people sat near bonfires to keep themselves warm as the mercury dropped in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut city.

According to the IMD, there will be ‘dense fog’ in the city today and the minimum temperature will drop to 7 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will drop to 18 degrees Celsius.
