Delhi Police on Saturday said that the unidentified body found near MCD School in Tilak Nagar was that of a Swiss national. In this case, the police have arrested an accused named Gurpreet, who had thrown the body on the roadside. The police have also seized the car used by Gurpreet to commit the crime.

The accused admitted that he met the woman on social media four years ago and fell in love with her. “The meeting three-four years ago turned into friendship and the accused fell in love with the girl. However, the girl had another boyfriend, who the accused did not like,” police said.

Police said, “The accused called the girl to India from Switzerland on the pretext of meeting her and then tied the girl’s hands and legs with a chain and said that he would surprise her in 10 minutes and strangulated her to death.”

Police said that the accused bought the car with the help of another woman’s ID and dumped the body near a school in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area. Delhi’s Tilak Nagar Police Station on Friday received information about the body of a woman tied with iron chains, after which police teams reached the spot.

“Prima facie, we thought it was a murder case. We registered a case under sections 302 and 201 and started investigation… Nearby cameras showed a suspicious car passing… We identified the car , It was brought from one place.” Second-hand car dealer with cash in Janakpuri… We traced an accused named Gurpreet. He was using the car… We caught Gurpreet from Janakpuri last night…” Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said.

“Only preliminary interrogation has taken place… He is not being very cooperative… It is a confirmed fact that the body was thrown in a car… The victim was in contact with the accused for the last 8-10 days ..,” DCP Veer said.

The police have recovered Rs 1.5 crore was found from the house of the accused, which he claimed to have earned after selling a property.
