Kim Huybrechts’ wife, Dana Verhagen, insists there is “no hatred” between the No. 31 seed and Dimitri van den Bergh, despite the two Belgian darts stars being involved in a PDC investigation ahead of the World Championships.

There was an awkward tension between Huybrechts and Van den Bergh at the World Cup of Darts earlier this year.

The pair completely ignored each other in their opening match against Finland and manager Mac Elkin had to intervene.

Despite soured relations, they managed to reach the semi-finals without revealing the source of their conflict.

It was later revealed that Van den Berg had filed a complaint about Huybrechts with the PDC.

Now the former close friends could meet at the World Darts Championship this month, with both players competing in the same category.

Huybrechts’ wife Verhagen has not given much importance to the ongoing feud, but has suggested that there will be no cordiality between them.

“They say hello to each other, but they don’t make small talk,” Verhagen told Het Nieuwsblad.

“Not more than necessary, but there is no hatred towards each other either.

“Best friends, that’s something else.”

The PDC also released a statement on the alleged investigation but claimed that nothing would be announced during the World Darts Championship.

“The process is in full swing,” the PDC told the Dutch outlet.

‘Nothing about the case will be made public until the final decision is reached.

“It won’t happen during the World Championships, so think about January or early February for a decision.

“The reason it took so long is because Huybrechts is currently involved in other matters.

“A possible fourth round match between the compatriots will depend on both players winning two games.

Latest Sports News:

As seeded players, both of them have received a bye into the first round and will be among the favorites for a deep run.

But Huybrechts has the tougher draw of the two as he faces No. 2 seed and three-time world champion Michael Van Gerwen in the third round.

If Huybrechts pulls off an upset and beats Van Gerwen, Van den Berg will have to beat Englishman Stephen Bunting to face his compatriot.
