COVID-19 update: 292 new cases, three deaths in Kerala – Gudstory

Kerala recorded 292 new active cases of COVID-19 and three deaths on December 19, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total number of active cases in the state stands at 2,041, and the total number of deaths due to COVID in Kerala since the outbreak three years ago has reached 72,056.

On Tuesday, state Health Minister Veena George had said that despite the rise in COVID-19 cases in Kerala, there is no cause for concern as the state is well prepared to deal with the virus infection.

The minister had also said that instructions have been issued to provide special facilities for COVID-19 patients and ensure availability of isolation wards, rooms, oxygen beds, ICU beds and ventilators in hospitals.

A total of 341 new cases were reported in India till 8 am today. The number of people who have recovered, been discharged or migrated in the last 24 hours after the infection was detected was 224.

With this, the total number of cases under this category has increased to 68,37,203.
