The BBC’s London headquarters was vandalized in red overnight, as the broadcaster faces criticism over its Israel war coverage.

Footage shared on social media showed the building’s entrance covered in red paint, with the floor, glass revolving doors and walls drenched.

The broadcaster faced criticism last week after refusing to label Hamas as “terrorists” as conflict between the group and Israel continues.

Newsnight host Victoria Derbyshire shared a video of the scene, writing: “Just arrived at work. This is the main entrance to the BBC this morning.”

The Metropolitan Police said: “We are aware of criminal damage to a building in Portland Place, W1A. There is no suggestion at this stage that it is linked to any protest group.”
