It appears Strictly Come Dancing fans are tired of the show’s current format, as the identity of Week Four’s eliminated star was revealed online ahead of the results show.

Each week, the remaining Strictly stars are tasked with performing their routine for the judges during the Saturday live shows.

However, fans usually do not find out who is eliminated until the following evening in a pre-recorded results show.

The results and dance-offs are recorded immediately after the Saturday live shows finish and the results of the public vote are counted, meaning there is approximately 24 hours between recording and broadcast on the BBC.

Thus, the Beeb has been vulnerable to leaks for some time, with “Strictly Spoiler” accounts often sharing the identity of the removed star on X, previously known on Twitter.

And week four of the 2023 series was no different, although it’s safe to say that many were still disappointed to see the results on social media ahead of its TV broadcast.

“@bbcstrictly pretending it’s tonight – what a joke,” one fan fumed in response to the online spoiler. “Also, it takes two records that show Mars and Jupiter on Mon and Wed.”

Another sarcastically poked fun at the format as he spoke: “Now, they have to wait till 7pm on Sunday for the results. [eyebrow-raised emoji] @BBCStrictly #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly.”

While another shared his disappointment at the result: “I haven’t said this often since Strictly started but I’m very disappointed with tonight’s result.

“It didn’t look like a tie after what happened last week,” he said, before a fourth added: “Surprising that one of them was in the dance off!”

In the end, the evening belonged to Williams and her partner Nikita Kuzmin as they scored a leaderboard-topping 37 for their Cha Cha.

In fact, Williams was awarded a 10 for the routine on behalf of Motsi Mabuse – the first 10 awards given for cha cha in Strictly history.

Paralympic champion Jody Cundy failed to impress at the other end of the leaderboard, however, leading the table with 19.

Other highlights of the evening included Angela Rippon and Kai Widdington’s show-stopping rumba, which earned them a score of 31, as well as Adam Thomas receiving his highest score of the series so far (32) thanks to his waltz.
