Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reported a significant increase in anti-Semitism in Canada on Tuesday, following attacks on Israel by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas and Israel’s deadly airstrikes in Gaza.

Speaking at a conference on fighting anti-Semitism, the Canadian PM said, “Since this conflict began, there has been a very scary increase in anti-Semitism here at home.” As quoted, he said, even before the ongoing conflict, there had been a “steady increase” in anti-Semitism. reuters,

What is anti-Semitism?

According to the U.S. State Department, “Anti-Semitism is a definite belief about Jews, which can be expressed as hatred towards Jews.
