2024 Lok Sabha Elections: Congress is all set to launch its campaign for next year’s general elections with its mega rally ‘Hain Narayan Hum’ to be held in Nagpur city of Maharashtra on the party’s 139th Foundation Day today, Thursday .

Addressing a press conference here, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole said, “This will be a historic moment for the people of the country. Whenever there was a crisis in the country, Congress took the lead and there was a big change in the country.”

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will address the rally today.

Congress’ Lok Sabha campaign: Five things we know so far

1) Nagpur MLA Nitin Raut said that the ‘Hain Narayan Hum’ rally will send a good message to the entire country, through which Congress will sound the bugle for the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year. Preparations are going on for a mega rally in Dighori, Negapur, where lakhs of people will come.

2) Patole said, “After the Emergency, (then Prime Minister) Indira Gandhi held a public meeting in Nagpur and the Congress then won all the seats in Vidarbha. History will be repeated in Nagpur and there will be a big ‘change’ in the country.

3) Congress MLA Raut said that the party has chosen Nagpur for the rally because of its ideology and thinking. He said, on one side there is the ideology of RSS and on the other side there is the ideology of Constitution maker Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar which is linked to the ideology of Congress. PTI,

4) Maharashtra Congress working president and former cabinet minister Naseem Khan said that Congress has given the slogan ‘Hain Narayad Hum’ to protect the country’s democracy.

5) This mega event is significant as it will be held in Nagpur, where the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and ‘Deekshabhoomi’, the historical place where Dr BR Ambedkar converted to Buddhism, are located.
