IMD weather update: The cold weather has left people everywhere shivering. As the winter season begins, the temperature in many areas of the North has reached below zero degrees Celsius.

Dense fog continues in North India.

Delhiites woke up to cold and fog on the morning of December 14, with the minimum temperature reaching 6.2 degrees Celsius, the lowest so far this season.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 24 degrees Celsius.

According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the overall air quality index (AQI) at 9 am was 358 (‘very poor’).

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, between 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, between 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, between 201 and 300 ‘poor’, between 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 and between 500 is considered ‘severe’.

The India Meteorological Department bulletin said the relative humidity at 8.30 am was 100 percent.

The temperature in the national capital has been below normal for the last few days. The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, 6.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 6.5 degrees Celsius on Monday.

Between December 15 and 17, the IMD has predicted light to moderate rain along with isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Tamil Nadu and Kerala and Mahe.

Apart from this, isolated heavy rainfall is likely over South Tamil Nadu and Kerala on December 16 and 17.

It said that there is no possibility of significant change in minimum temperatures over most parts of the country in the next 4-5 days.
