Perhaps the most interesting part of the remaster is the new “No Return” mode which seems quite complicated. You choose a character and then try to survive in “random encounters” — it’s not clear whether the actual maps are random or not — and surviving allows you to win meta progression to enhance your character’s abilities, unlock cosmetic items, and compete on global leaderboards for the Daily Challenge .
“Remastered“It means improving the audio/visual aspects. The new version will actually take advantage of the enhanced capabilities of the PlayStation 5, giving you the usual choice of 4K “Fidelity” mode or 1440p to 4K “Performance” mode that runs at 60 frames per second. On November 17, a popular listing for the yet-to-be-confirmed remaster was leaked online. New reformulated The last of us sequel The game will apparently feature “PS5-native improvements”, including “a host of graphical improvements” and faster loading times.
The store listing also mentions “No Return,” which is described as a “roguelike survival mode experience.” Here’s the full description of this clear new mode:
Survive as long as possible in each round, as you choose your own path through a series of random encounters. Play as a group of different unlockable characters, some of which have never been previously playable in The Last of Us franchise, each with unique gameplay traits. The variety of challenges features different enemies and memorable locations throughout The second partall culminating in tense boss battles.
This redesigned edition of The Last of Us Part Two It will also contain “Missing Levels” that will allow players to explore “early development versions” of levels that did not appear in the main game. Some other interesting tidbits from the store’s menu include:
- Hours of new developer commentary.
- A new mode that lets you play the popular guitar mini-game freely.
- A mode focused on speed
- New unlockable weapons and characters for Abby and Ellie.
It appears that this new version will be exclusive to PS5 and will launch on January 19, 2024. The leaked trailer and store listing did not mention a PC port.
