It’s all over for Kody Brown and Meri Brown.
All was believed to be over for Kody Brown and Meri Brown in January when the former couple released a joint statement confirming they were ending their marriage.
But Sunday night’s episode of Sister Wives took viewers back months before this announcement was made.
It features a key scene in which Meri and Kody meet with Robyn Brown, presumably to talk about the family’s plans for property in Coyote Pass…

…but then for Mary to drop the bomb on legal spouses.
“I was at a bed and breakfast last weekend and it needs me,” Meri told the husband and wife, emphasizing that “I probably won’t renew my lease here” and telling Robyn and Cody that He plans to go to Utah.
Earlier on Sister Wives, Kody told Meri that he did not love her.
“I’m not going to apologize for what I know in my heart I have to do,” Meri said in a confessional this week when Robyn started crying over her planned transfer.
“If it’s going to hurt Robin’s feelings, if Cody is going to be jumping for joy, whatever feelings anyone else has about it is irrelevant.”

After Robyn walks away from the difficult conversation, Kody tells Meri:
“I’m sitting here realizing that living in a duty-bound marriage is ridiculous.”
“No, I don’t think that’s fair to either of us,” Mary replied.
The very selfish patriarch then said that “the hardest thing is to accept that you don’t have to go back to the place that worked for you,” prompting Mary to express this in a confessional. About how she didn’t like the way Cody was “putting it all on me and he’s not even admitting that he’s not interested.”
This was shocking to see since Kody has said for years that he no longer sees Meri in any kind of romantic way.

The father of 17 children further said that he was willing to flaunt his affection for Mary, in order to fulfill his most basic “duties” as a polygamous partner.
“Nobody wants to be like that. And I’ve experienced it and it’s not fun,” Mary rightly responded, at one point telling Robyn:
“It is not fair for me to live alone as I have been doing for years. And it is not right for him to feel that he has a duty to do.’
With that being said, Meri hugged Robyn and Cody and left.

Robyn, for her part, was really broken up about things… Meri has now joined Christine and Janelle in walking away from Kody.
“I wanted to sit on a porch with my sister wives, here on this property with our kids and our grandkids and watch Cody as he runs around and builds a family,” she said through tears before concluding. Said:
“I don’t understand.”
However, Cody knew it was over, and even seemed okay with the development.
“This is goodbye,” he said.
“This was a conversation that was long overdue. I mean, it was probably seven years wasted for Mary. I do not know. But now we have agreed and I hope she finds peace as I will.”
