Last week, Dean McDermott admitted to making a number of mistakes during their 18-year marriage to Tori Spelling.
He spoke openly about his years of struggle with substance abuse, including alcohol and prescription drugs.
However, his mistakes – and even Tory’s – weren’t the only notable topic.
Dean points the finger at Candy as a “malicious” presence at the wedding. And he says that, contrary to what many people believe, he has Never Supported the family financially.

During Dean McDermott’s lengthy interview The Daily MailHe talked about meeting Tori’s late father. He referred to Aaron Spelling only as “Mr.” Spelling.”
He praised the late television producer’s charisma and kindness.
Aaron died in 2006. Tori and her brother, Randy, each received only $800,000. The remainder of his estate of more than half a billion remained with his widow Candy.

According to Dean, Candy Spelling never tried to form a relationship or befriend him. This placed permanent strain on his marriage with his daughter.
“I haven’t spent a lot of time with her, and we haven’t since the beginning,” he confirmed. “It’s unfortunate that he never tried to get to know me.”
Dean said: “It wasn’t for a lack of effort on my part – she just didn’t want to know and ignored everything I tried to do.”

“It was hard for Tori. Here is the man she loves and is married to and she has no relationship with her mother-in-law. I think that would hurt anybody,” Dean described.
According to her, Candy has not seen her five grandchildren much. And she claimed that she does nothing to financially support her daughter or grandchildren.
For many years, most believe that Candy provides some kind of assistance to Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau. Dean is saying that it is not so.

“This is your daughter. This is your flesh and blood and these are your grandchildren,” Dean expressed. “And for someone who is lucky enough to have so much, it will be really nice to share with her daughter.”
He added: “Like I told Candy, I don’t want any of this [for myself], I am not interested. I would love it if as a mother you would step up and help your daughter and your son Randy, who is a beautiful boy. He is such a wonderful person.”
Dean elaborated: “He is a life coach and is doing amazing work. These are amazing children. In my opinion, these are both amazing kids who came from privilege and deserve to be happy and participate.”

Dean said that the unexpectedly low inheritance so early in their relationship was a blow.
“It was a financial strain for us because we were beginning our relationship,” he recalled. “And none of us brought much to the table.”
Dean added: “But having said that, Tori didn’t expect anything. He’s always looked at it like it’s his father’s money and he can do whatever he wants with it – he’s always kept it intact.

“Tori as a person is a beautiful, kind and loving soul,” he praised his ex.
‘He’s generous to a fault,’ Dean gushed. “She puts everyone else before herself, even at the expense of her own physical and mental health.”
Dean added: “I have never met a more generous, hard-working man in my life. I couldn’t appreciate Tori enough and what she brought to the relationship.”

Speaking once again about my mother-in-law Wicked Despite attending his former marriage, his priority now is for his children.
“I think the real shame for her is that she’s not able to see these wonderful kids,” Dean insisted. “Because they’re really beautiful kids. They are very talented and special.”
Maybe this divorce will help Tori and her kids get closer to Candy. Or maybe not. Some issues may go deeper than his marriage.
